Geography Education in Seychelles; a narrative inquiry. Dr Persaud’s doctoral research explored Seychelles’ links to Europe’s supranational ‘educational space'. While these links enhance the legitimacy of Seychelles’ educational achievements, local governance is compromised. To understand the extent of this compromise, the research assessed the competing forces that influence Seychelles’ education system by focusing on one area of the school curriculum – geography education. Based on the personal and collective narratives of Seychellois geography educators, the inquiry examined the powerful discourses that shape the lives of geography teachers in Seychelles.
