Dr. Daniel Etongo – Daniel obtained his PhD in Forest Ecology from the Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI), Helsinki University, Finland. His interest lies in biodiversity assessment, livelihood assessment, natural resource governance and climate change in which he has co-authored over a dozen papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has been involved in two development projects in these areas as a postdoc at Helsinki University (Finland) and at Maynooth University (Ireland). Daniel also co-authored a policy document on 'Climate Change, REDD+ and Natural Resources: Sierra Leone Country Profile'. At the University of Seychelles, he is teaching environmental science courses on climate change and ecosystem-based management. His research interest at unisey include ecosystem-based adaptation interventions, socio-ecological systems modelling and resource governance within the framework of the Blue Economy.
